Shop Manager

DESCRIPTION

South Tampa’s top landscape and garden maintenance company is looking for a skilled gearhead with a great attitude who has a passion for general mechanical maintenance and a functional knowledge of various equipment/machinery.

 

As the Shop Manager, you are the reason our fleet and crews can efficiently and safely conduct detailed landscape work everyday with top-of-line equipment. You can expect:

The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the property, vehicles, and equipment. Work duties include driving, picking up materials, light mechanical work on vehicles and equipment, operating and maintaining equipment as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

Valid & clean Florida Driver’s License

Ability to communicate fluently in English

Demonstrates excellence in the operation of various trucks / trailers

Positive attitude, willingness to cooperate with team members and learn new skills

Must have reliable transportation to and from work

Must pass a pre-employment Drug Screen and Criminal Background check

 

Preferred

Ability to understand and speak Spanish

 

Job Duties

  • Work independently with limited supervision.

  • Stand, walk, crouch, stoop and/or kneel.

  • Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 75 lbs.

  • Establish and execute scheduled maintenance for all vehicles and equipment.

  • Performs regular light mechanic work.

  • Drive a truck and trailer to pick up plant materials from nurseries, secure load, and safely deliver as needed.

  • Perform regularly scheduled inventory of shop supplies and replenish as needed.

  • Maintain inventory of equipment and foster excellent communication with team leaders.

  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in a timely manner.

  • Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and performs well under pressure.

  • Follows policies and procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions.

  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills.

  • Is consistently at work and on time and committed to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.

  • Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), for extended periods of each day.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

The Shop Manager works at the shop, performing work both in and outdoors. They will also drive a truck / trailers to pick up and deliver materials as needed to facilitate completion of various projects.

 

Monday – Friday, 40-50 hours per week, occasional weekends, and holidays

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

 

$22.00 - $25 per/hr

One week paid vacation
